Ashtanga Yoga Retreat with Mikko Seppinen
July 22-28, 2019
in the Italian countryside north of Rome

One of the greatest gifts of yoga is that it provides us tools to return to a life of peace and simplicity in a world of growing complexity. Through practice we can find the freedom and courage to be who we really are and inspire others do the same.

This retreat covers the fundamental teachings of yoga and aims to take the practices into everyday life. During the retreat we will focus on Ashtanga Yoga Mysore practice with plenty of  individual attention, building up a personal pranayama sequence, and learning about the philosophy that integrates all of the practices and techniques into the life off the mat.

The retreat is for everyone, whatever is the level of experience. However, experience at least with the Ashtanga yoga standing sequence is recommended.

Our retreat takes place at the Country House Giulia di Gallese which sits in the typical rolling Italian countryside north of Rome, along the Tiber valley near Viterbo. A strategic site once chosen by ancient monks to build a convent. There are still traces of the old walls plus a deconsecrated 16th-century church surrounded by picturesque arches from the old cloister at the Country House Giulia di Gallese. There are also some old pre-Roman caves on the property.
Surrounded by lawns, flowers and trees, this Country House offers us a fine view across the valley to the old medieval town of Gallese, which is only 1 km away, and across the countryside, with the majestic Monte Soratte, the Cimini mountains and the Appenines on the horizon. There is a new open-air swimming-pool, framed by lawns, roses and olive-trees.

The vegetarian meals served during our retreat are organic and prepared by signora Giulia.
